Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, Iceland — I took this photograph seconds before the ocean sucked me in. My son Jonathan and I were filming at the edge of the basalt cliffs in the most violent storm and raging surf I have ever encountered, when a wave sucked me into the churning North Atlantic off the cliff face. Somehow, I made it back to shore, shaken and fully drenched but safe — and with this image. It is the single most dramatic moment I have ever captured, from a day I will never forget.
