I caught this perfect reflection of Half Dome in Yosemite late one afternoon on my birthday in March. Spring had not quite come to Yosemite but the grandure of this setting is always magnificent.
Caught this peaceful sunset on Orcas Island in the Puget Sound in Washington just south of the Canadian border. What an amazing and beautiful place.
In northern Nevada north of Lake Mead near the Colorado border there is a fascinating sandstone formation called Little Finland, also known as Devil's Fire or Hobgoblin's Playground. It's full of intricate sandstone shapes. I caught this shot heading back to the car after a long day of shooting in this area.
Early one cold morning in October I found Jackson Lake as smooth as glass. I walked down to the foot of the Jackson Lake Dam, set up my tripod in the water and captured this shot of these stunning peaks and their reflections in the water.
Just before sunset one night recently I hiked up to this beautiful spot in the quakies. It was almost perfectly glassy. Near this location, I had spotted a couple of Moose hanging out in the woods along the trail around the lake.
This summer my son and his family had a couple of ducks. These are the eggs laid by the ducks. They never hatched but I love the colors and texture of the image.
Halfway up American Fork Canyon in Utah I caught this stream just before dark one night. I love image of this clear blue water in this pool powerfully coursing down through this canyon.
Sunset on the lake after a long day of fishing is a perfect end to a perfect day.
The hike to Lake Blanche in Big Cottonwood Canyon east of Salt Lake City is a pretty good hike to about 9,000 feet. This view made it all worth it even though we didn't make it back to the car until almost 11 p.m.
Hiking off the mountain after sunset can provide some pretty epic views, like this one of the Great Salt Lake through the trees at 9,000 feet.
5am on the Kenai River in Alaska fishing for King Salmon is a perfect reason to get up at 4am to get there.
Taken from near Bridal Veil Falls, a 365' waterfall east of Telluride Colorado. I love the dramatic bowl of the valley with the afternoon clouds hovering over everything. Nice hike too!
This is probably the most frequently taken image of Tunnel View in Yosemite. This was taken about 200' above the roadway. Perfect day for light and clouds with Half Dome in the distance.
This is Yosemite Falls up close and personal taken this past March. You can see that the snow has still not melted completely. What an awesome sight!
South of Big Sur on the California coast is McWay Falls. Believe it or not, nobody is allowed to even hike down to this restricted beach. Even the walkway above the beach was closed this day so I got as close as I could. What a unique and beautiful place!
Tibble Fork Reservoir in late Winter is a beautiful place. Conditions were perfect to catch a nice reflection of the clouds and trees in the mirror of the water.
In Snow Canyon north of St George Utah there are several caves. This shot shows coming out of the darkness of the cave back out into the light of day.
East of Portland Oregon there is a beautiful place called Trillium Lake that sits at the foot of Mount Hood. I was not able to capture the reflection of the mountain on this trip but did capture a dramatic sunrise over the lake..
It was still dark when I walked out into the lake and took this shot. I love the moodiness of the blue pre-dawn light and the line of rocks that seem to beckon me into the shot.
In west Portland Oregon there is a beautiful Japanese garden. This shot captures the lush gardens surrounding the koi pond.
The Church of San Giovanni in Ranui sits at the foot of the beautiful Dolomites in northern Italy. We timed our visit perfectly to catch this amazing site just as the sun was setting.

I loved this charming neighborhood drug store in Paris. People must have thought I was crazy kneeling down on the cobblestones with my tripod and camera taking this shot.
The Pont Neuf is the oldest standing bridge across the river Seine in Paris. I caught it at the perfect time of day. Even the clouds cooperated.

I got up at 4am one Spring morning to drive up to this pristine mountain lake. I love how the morning sun is kissing the snow-covered peaks in the distance.
I got to watch the sun go down on the western shore of Maui in Hawaii. I love the fire in the clouds!
Southwest of Aspen Colorado I found this stunning lake called Maroon Bells. It was snowy and cold but luckily there was no wind and the surface of the lake was like glass. These peaks are over 14,000'

This beautiful waterfall lies about 60 miles east of Roseburg Oregon on route 138. A lookout platform is provided but that puts you about 100 feet above the falls so I hiked down the steep incline to the river's edge to photograph this waterfall.
This 129' waterfall is located along the McKenzie Pass Highway 242 east of Eugene Oregon on a looping trail that includes Lower Proxy Falls too.
Lower Proxy Falls, is a cascade and plunge waterfall from a collection of springs on the shoulder of North Sister, that plunges into a gaping canyon near McKenzie Pass in the Willamette National Forest, near Belknap Springs, Oregon.
Doughnut Falls is a waterfall that falls through the ceiling of a cave in Big Cottonwood Canyon east of Salt Lake City Utah
Abiqua Falls is cut out of basalt bowl and is part of the same geological formation as nearby Silver Falls State Park in Oregon. It is completely unsigned, and the trail is a bit rough and steep, but it's worth it!
Punch Bowl Falls is a waterfall on Eagle Creek in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, Oregon. It's one of the most beautiful areas I have ever visited.

The Grand Tetons are one of my favorite places to visit. This was taken in late Spring early one morning.
In Canyonlands National Park there is an amazing cave containing a human-made stone circle of unknown origin called False Kiva. Unfortunately, this location is no longer open to the public because of vandalism. The view from this vantage point is amazing!
Lower Antelope Canyon light beam. This epic slot canyon is located south of Page Arizona. It's located across the street from the coal-fired Navajo Generating Station, which is now in the process of being decommissioned.
This is a small Japanese Maple tree found in the Japanese Gardens in Portland Oregon. I love the way the light shines through the curving branches of this delicate tree.
